Like everyone else said a CAI is a good first mod... but now you should start doing suspension work. Springs, adj. struts, anti-sway bars and strut tie bars...and then some decent performance tires.

What's the point of having more power if you slide all over the place?

Yeah, I have been poking around the spring/suspension department. Everyone seems to concur that spending the money is the way to go for the suspension. Looks like you can approach $1K pretty quick

It's time to start saving!

Yep... When I do my suspension it's gonna end up costing me about $700.

Welcome. It depends on how old your engine is and the condition of your car before you consider doing mods. If your engine is getting up there in mileage and the car is great consider an H22 swap instead of bolt on mods.

I recommend HID:thumbup:

Please forgive me for being ignorant, but what is the H22 engine? Is that a faster engine than Honda originally put in the car? My car (and engine) have 190K miles. How much does the H22 engine cost?

it's out of a prelude. it's a popular engine swap because of the big difference in HP betweent he F22 and H22

oh, ok. I'll cruise around and try to find out more about it. Are they all VTEC's, or is that optional?

The H22 is the Honda Prelude engine. It ranges from 190 horsepower to 220 (or is it 215 JDM Type-S?) in various forms. It costs around $4000 including installation. Your F22 only has around 120HP if memory serves. The H22 also has Honda's VTEC system, which alters cam timing at a set RPM to push you back in your seat.

Also, don't do the swap expecting to come out with a rocket ship. You're still putting a 200HP engine in a heavy car. But it will be fast, and if you don't put stupid stuff on your car like altezzas and a stupid body kit you'll have a real sleeper

$4000 with install... sounds better than nickel and diming the bolt ons. Yes, I did find some info, and the F22 pushes out around 120HP. I like the sound of being pushed back in my seat
