Default ignition switch

Hi, someone stole my 96' and broke the ignition switch. Later, it was found couple blocks away. Now, is it possible to replace the ignition myself? If so, could any one give me tne instruction. Thank you

yes, remove the upper and lower column covers if they aren't already, the ign. cylinder is held onto the column with two breakaway bolts (the heads break off when they reach a specific torque) you will need a punch and a hammer, you have to walk the bolts arund until they are loose then just follow the wires and unplug them and reinstall. tighten the bolts on the cylinders till the heads break off and you done.
