I want to get an intake system but the more i look into it the more i relize i dont have the cash right now, can i take the resonator off the stock airbox, and will everything still work ok (meaning no danger of sucking anyhting unwanted up into the system, nice sound coming from the hood, etc)

 

go for it... nothin to lose, except maybe a pound in your front bumper.

 

Do it, no risks at all. You will be able to hear a very faint low sound which will be nice, but with your stereo on you wont hear it... not loud don't worry.
