like i said... it's the actual bumper. it is what absorbs, or attempts to absorb impact in the event of a front or rear end collision. the plastic/fiberglass/whatever painted cover on the outside (the thing everyone calls the bumper)is for cosmetic purposes.

so ur saying the little metal roller which is maybe 10 inchs long at most is the bumper?

isnt eh bumper a big metal peice that is like \_____/ and then the bumper cover goes over that..... the metal roller sits on top of that peice

The roller is part of the bumper structure, along with the two post things that absorb shock... but not the whole thing... I think everyone here knows what the bumper cover is dude...
