Default Maaco

Exactly how terrible is Maaco? I need a paint job for my Accord as soon as I'm done putting all the front end parts on. I can't afford to pay a few grand or whatever to get the car painted. Would Maaco at the very least, make my car look decent for a year or two? Then maybe I'll be able to afford a real decent job. Let me know if you have any experiences with Maaco, good or bad... Be specific please? Pics?

Words from my mechanic. The paint job is a peice of shit. At most it would last a year.

Depends on which one you go to. I went to Maaco to have them paint my front bumper, they did an excellent job, blended perfectly and it looks like factory. In contrast, when my car got hit in the back and the bumper was replaced, one of those "Progressive Certified" body shops didn't quite match the color right and it looks purpleish in the sun.

a buddy of mine had his car painted there and they did a damn good job. granted he sanded the car down himself, completely primed it himself and taped it off. then drove it down to maaco. i'm thinking about doing it myself. if they charge under 400 bucks. good enough for 1 year till i can save money for a couple thousand dollar paint job.

I don't know where you're at, but check for a 1 Day Paint and Body near you. I got my car painted there and it came out sweet. $550 and they removed all the dents/dings, sanded it down, primered it and painted it. It's not a show quality finish(does have some orange peel) but it's very shiny and looks a hell of alot better than it did:thumbup:

It is my understanding that they have different packages you can buy.....the more expensive the better it is.

My housemate got some body work and a new paint job on his Delta 88.....it cost a grand but they did a great job.
