Default tire sizes

i have a 00 accord ex with 195/65/15. i really want to keep the stock ex wheels but would like to go with a wider tire. Does anyone have experience with 205/55/15 on stock wheels and stock ride height? is it best to go with a 205/60/15? i think that the 205/60 may be alot of tire. i am also planning on lowering the car very soon. in the mean time would the 205/55 look funny and would the 1 inch difference in overall diameter make much difference in the speedo.

thanks

well, one thing's for sure that you car will be a bit lower , but still have wide gaps all around. With smaller tires, I THINK you'll travel less miles/speed that it actually states.

Yeah, tire rack has a tire calculator as well.

I put some 205/60's on my wifes civic, they fit fine, and that's a 14" wheel.

Without looking it up on the tire calculator, I'd say 205/60 is your best choice.

Do you want to sell your stock tires? Are they in new shape, or worn?

205 60 15 is what you want, that is the correct +0 size for a 195 65 15 stock tire.

205 55 15 is what 90-97 owners use since out stock 15s are 195 60 15.

My accord came with 195/65/15....not 195/60/15.

This is what tire rack also confirms with my year and model(96lx 4d). Where did u read 195/60/15 as stock tire?

I want to know for a fact that i'm right or wrong. I'd rather have the 195/60 than the 195/65.
