monster tach question
Hey everyone, long story made short...I fuc*ed my stock tach up plus its a bitch to see at night.
I put a 5inch monster tach w/ shift light in today but I need to know where to put the 4 wires ?
black wire - ground = Done
Red wire - ignition = Can I hook into this right behind the keyhole ?
Green wire - Coil = No clue where the coil is on 94 h22a any help would be great.
white wire - 12v light = I am not sure where to hook this one up either, lemme know where to hook this wire.
Right now I have the hole dash apart so I can get to everything really easy, but need to know how to hook it all up so I can get it all put back together.
Thanks

I recently put a tach in so maybe I can help...
the red wire is power... you can hook this to any constant 12v source. This is when a voltage meter comes in handy. You are on your own with this one... but yes you can hook it to an ignition switch power wire.
the Green signal wire.. you can hook this to the coil. From what I've read it is a thick blue wire with a white stripe. What i did though is splice the tach signal wire going into the dash pod... it was a small blue wire with white dots on the stock tach side.
the white 12v Light wire gets hooked to a light source that turns on with the parking/headlights. you can splice into the stock dimmer switch for this...
I hope some of that helped.... it's late I'm tired.

hook up the power and parking light wires to the under dash fuse block. there are 1/4" male spades (4-5 i think) that provide fused power (constant, ignition, parking lights, acc). i would get the tach signal from behind the cluster. u can pick up a used cluster on ebay for real cheap. the tach on the 5g accord is already really huge. imo, monster tachs look really tacky

and the main thing I've noticed since I put mine in is that the stock tach is horribly innaccurate. like 400+ rpms sometimes. and if it's 400rpms off at 3500 then I'd hate to see what that difference would translate into at say 7200rpms that the H22 is capable of...

i guess the stock tach is a bit hard to read at nite... sometimes.. my accord tach was pretty accurate, but my civic one isnt. my motor is supposed to rev to 7500, but indicates 8000. i kno where the indicated fuel cut-off is. i dont go by what's indicated
And if you have any kind of aftermarket steering wheel than you have to almost duck your head down to see the stock tach....
I like my 3 3/8 tach... I thought it might be kind of ricey, and believe me all these morons see it and rev at me but it really does help and I'm glad I put it in... besides it was a present from the GF. Whenever people give me shit for it I just tell them that and they are kinda like, "Oh, well, ummmmm.....I wish I had a GF like that..." heh heh heh....
