Default 6gen Blackened headlights

I keep seeing blackened headlights in pics here. I think they look great.

How do I do that? How much do I paint? How do I open the lights? How much does this alter light dispersion? is this legal, will 'they' be all over me for doing this?

I like getting places without delay.

Yes, just like the lights in the red coupe. Nice with amber indicator along the bottom.

I thought I could make these myself by painting the OEM lights (opening them up). is this possible?

Yes, it is possible. There have been many how-to's posted, especially on the Accord and Do It Yourself Board's. If not, search for Cryogen97 or whatever his name is, and he has a how-to for the 5th Gen Accord, but it also applies to the 6th gen as well. Search Button = Your friend!

I did mine.

take out the lights
take out the bulbs
preheat the oven at 400degrees. Used broil
turn off the oven and put the headlight in
wait for 5 minutes
take the light out
open the light
take out the housing. take out the orange strip if you want to
cover up the parts where you dont want to paint
put on some primer.
paint it.
put everything back together
seal the opening with lots and lots of silicon
wait for the silicon to dry
put the lights back on the car

your done

What about the chocolate chips, I'll get my mom to start the oven!

Thanks,
