if you can, i would say do all the prep work yourself...do some research and prep the car yourself b4 painting it...it'll save you a few hundred bucks....but only if you have time
Originally posted by teamlegacy Well, Insurance hooked me up with some dough to get my car repainted after it was egged 5 times and foxxed up the paint. So, I have a 94 Coupe, I want to get it repainted Grenada Black Pearl (stock black) and also have the moldings and factory lip kit painted. How much does that go for. I'm not talking MAACO. Actually quality paint job, but affordable.
What have your repainting prices been, post up! Thanks!
Egged 5 times...that gives me a good idea on how to repaint the car. Where on your car were the eggs, and how bad did your paint look? Did your claim go to SIU(specian investigations unit) before they paid you for the claim? Any problems or snags? I work in an insurance claim office. I'm going to ask an adjuster how they would handle this. Oh, if your rims get stolen off your car, keep the recipt. I spoke to a couple of adjusters, they will pay you back for your rims.

Make some phone calls bro, that's the best I could tell you. You never know, you might have a place out there who is similar and can hook it up for you.

Yes, it is a single stage paint like you said, but I also had them add two more coats of clear over basecoat so it's more durable. And FYI, I had my ef sedan painted about a year before it got stolen, dual stage paint, full on custom job, costed damn near $1800 and it got swirls the first time I wiped it w/terry cloth towel. I have used terry cloth on my current ride a few times, no swirls. The pics I have don't do my paint justice, I mean, you can see how shiny it is, but the depth is the best part of it, the depth and the metallic, they did a good job for such a killer price.
