Question for '03 Accord guys - real quick.
I have the '03 Coupe 6-Speed. Owned it for about a month. Recently, when I open the driver's door to get in there is a brief little chime that sounds. I don't know what it means. It only sounds once and then goes away. Any ideas?
The door is not ajar...except the one I am entering the car through. And I DID read the manual, cover to cover. Did not remember reading anything about this. There is no specific entry in the index for "chime sounds when entering car."
Go to the dealer and ask them...03 Accord is not something a majority on this board are familiar with and when you find out then let us know so we can answer the question later down the road

it is the alarm....sit in ur car...lock it...then unlcok it...and open the door right away...since the parkin lights flash and the door is open it chimes....its the same chime when u have the doors open and the headlights are on.
you guys unlock the doors with the fob that close to the car? when the parking lights are still blinking..... haha..... i keep pressing it until i get close enough for it too work....
Woo, I picked up my car today....I am so lovin it!
I am kinda confused as to how the security system works. Once you lock the doors and that light blinks on the dash, it's enabled. The manual says that if the door is opened without using the key or remote transmitter, then the alarm sounds. So I was thinking, there is no other way of opening the door besides power/remote/key unlock. All thats left is pulling the lock up by hand....they are going to rely on that alone to set it off? Does it rely on window/impact sensors? Is there a way to test out the alarm? (without breaking anything :fawk: )

almost all factory alarms do not have shock sensors b/c they cause so many false alarms. most have glass breakage sensors that pick up inaudiable frequencies that breaking glass makes. i'd recommend adding a shock sensor, tilt sensor and radar motion sensor. a decent alarm shop should be able to wire it up to teh stock alarm
Snatchface, I get the same thing, Im fairly sure it's normal....coincides with blinking of lights
As someone said, try opening your car from a distance, and then opening the door once the lights stop flashing.
