Default Tires Question

I have 205/50/16 tires on right now whereas my stock car was riding on 205/65/15s.

I'm looking to buy new tires. I'm thinking either Yokohama AVS100s or Pirelli P7000 Supersports.

Should I get 205/55/16s or 205/60/16s?

are you lowered any at all? if so get 205/50's, if you're not then get 55 series.

I'm lowered with H&R Sports, so 1.5 and 1.25 or something in that range.

Right now my car sort of looks lowered but there is a gap. I used the tire calculator at miata.net and it says my speedo is 6% or so off (205/65/15 --> 205/50/16).

I'm worried if I put on tires with a larger sidewall they will not look as low-profile.

get 55 series to lessen the gap....but i'm not too sure how much tread there will be when they're brand new. or else they'd probably rub.

bcuz i'm running 55 series on my back wheels which are down to 20 % tread, and i have no gap at all, whereas my fronts have 45 series which gave me a 3 finger gap. and i'm lowered abotu 2"

so its up to you man.
