Default Used car inspection

If you have a shop that you like, and trust, you should have them do a used car inspection. We charge an hour labor to do it and look at everything we can without taking apart major systems. They should definitely provide a compression check in that as well. We have saved some people some real headaches, plus they may find something you can use to knock the price down...

Timing belt, water pump, and drive belts every 90 k, check the clutch good, and oil change records. No real serious problems with that model, but the axle boots indicate the need for axles.
What is the mileage of your car?

Oh, I forgot, the radiators go bad in those cars, mostly the automatic tranny models though.

I recently bought my 91.....I had to replace the radiator.....common problem is the valve cover gasket leaking....check spark plug area for oil.....{cheap/easy fix though}

Other than those problems ....my 91 was ok....what i did, since i didnt know when last the timing was done although the belt was good I went ahead and did the following maintaince on it:

NEW Timing and balancer belts
New Water Pump
New seals and drive belts
New plugs/wires/filters

Keep your eyes peeled for the following on the 4G Accords:
Timing belt/water pump,
Power steering rack,
Brake master cylinder,
Rusted thru muffler.
All these are very common problems that one will come across with a 4G Accord. Prior to my purchases of my 2 4Gs, I did enough research on these cars that I could write a term paper about them. Also keep note of the condition of the radiator, as the plastic cap can crack easily.

The work starts today at the mechanic, he is replacing the front sway bar, two tires, rack and pinion, and axle boot, total of 454 dollars. Which brings my total price for the whole car to 3300, i believe that still qualifies as a steal@!
Ill update when i recieve it tomorrow.

I didn't see anything in your post about replacing the timing belt, water pump, or drive belts.. ?? Considering your mileage, that should be on the top of your list. I have seen those year accords towed in for broken timing belts......
