Default 98 accord factory cd player

Does anyone know the proper way to burn cd's so that it will play in 98 Accords?...(Factory CD player)
I can't seem to get it to work..Now sometimes it plays them but other times it doesn't. I noticed that I had to burn them at 4x to even have them half way play. Is it my media or what?
I would put my other radio in but, I just dont want to raise the risk level of theft on my car. I plan on putting in the Alpine 6 disk changer in so I can keep the factory radio in the dash and not a hole....Just in the mean time I would like to play it on the deck.

Any suggestions?

Make sure to "Close Session & Disc" so you can't write anymore... if you don't do that then the CD player reads it as a data CD if it isn't CD-R/RW compatible...

Well I switched media thinking that the Office Max brand would be better but, no luck. Im gonna go fetch the Memorex Cd-r's and see. Oh..The funny part is that it would play the cd-r sometimes..As long as I dont skip tracks. I dunno..I might as well go buy a changer and just let it be. As much as Im spending on these coasters that Im burning. I could of already gotten one.

b_dyche said it - make sure you're completely closing the disc when you're done burning.

Also, on older CD Players, make sure you get really good quality media that has a pre-painted label on it (Memorex is a good example). This makes the disc less transparent.

Also, avoid 700MB (80 min) discs - these require a more high-density beam than most older CD players have. Stick with the 74 min, 650MB discs.

i use princo cd-r and have no problem and the majority of the cd's i play are burned using nero or ez cd creator at 24x and up....also princo is what most sony and samsung cd-r are before they are rebadged

use a high quality disc and slower burn speed. also, use the "disc at once" option when u burn. it eliminates gaps btw tracks, and closes the cd. its the most compatible with car cd players. dont multisession either.

Sometimes, not always, if a laser is just slightly off (on the burner itself) you can get the problems you are describing. Try to play a burnt CD in a normal CD player....if you get the same outcome, then it is probably the laser. Also, and I am just mentioning this to be sure, you can't play CD-RWs.
