Default Tire Pressure Q?

Hi,
I bought 4 Michelin MXV4 Energy tires (stock tires) yesterday, I don't know why but the guy at the tire shop bump the tire pressure to 65 psi in front and 50 psi in rear. I just noticed that, and I was like I know the stock tire's pressure should around 32-35 psi. My question is, I was driving under high tire pressure for about 25 miles yesterday, is that going to damage my new tires? Thanks.

HOLY SH*T!!!!

I'm surprised they even held that much pressure.... I would leave them like that and take them back and have the tire place buy you 4 new tires....don't drive on them like that though.

there could be some internal damage.... what's the maximum safe tire pressure rating on the sidewall?

Already did, what I want to know is it possible to have any kind of damage to tires cause I was driving @ 65 psi for about 25 miles. Thanks for all replies.

The short answer is YES... it is possible. I would guess that the max rating is close to 50 psi....

I would just keep an eye on them over the next week or 2. and maybe pull them off periodically to check for bubbling.

you should go talk to the service mgr and ask how long the installer has been there and tell him the situation...it's worth a try.

When I worked for Sears Tire I saw (more like heard) a new guy explode a passenger tire due to overinflation.... It was the loudest thing I can remember ever hearing. Freaked everybody out, including all the customers inside and some guys that had been there 10+ years...
He said that the pressure went off the psi gauge (which read to 75psi I think, don't remember but I do know I never ever had it even close to that high) he said he figured it would automatically stop when it was at the right pressure....WTF?.... needless to say he didn't even get to finish out the day.

On the stock Accord tire the max is like 32 or 35 PSI.
