Default Gas light

I was running on "E" this morning and the light came on. I was 3/4 of the way to school and was running late so I didnt stop by the gas station. I got out of school and turn on the car and the light is still there usually it would turn on after i drive. Anyways I fill her up 15.3 gallon (full tank) and the light is still on. I then pulled over and turn the car off and let it sit for 10 mins, turn it on and still ON. What do you think is wrong? I dont wnat to Rest the ECU yet... Any thing else i can do to fix this problem?

Not that I know, Just drive and hope it goes away. It's possible a little dirt in the bottom of the tank got stuck in the little thing that turns the light on and now since you filled it it's trapped. I would just drive on it over speed bumbs and hope it just turns off.

The gas light I think is judged by the weight of your gas tank, but I'm prolly wrong. Just hope it fixes itself.

Here's a picture of the fuel metering unit.

You see that thing at the bas of the sender? That's what actuates the fuel light.

Here's another picture.

See the little holes under it, It's possible some dirt got in there and it's sticking so the light is always on.

That's why I said just drive it and when you get low on fuel again go over some speed bumbs and maybe the problem will fix itself.

Here's a picture of my car with no tank while I put my Walbro 255lph fuel pump in
