Default =-O KYB AGX goes UH OH!

KYB AGX install...gone wrong.

Well, I got my KYB AGX's BRAND SPANKIN' NEW, IN BOX, all that off of some guy off another board (might get banned if I name the board). I have those, mated to Neuspeed Sports.

So i pulled my car in after work and proceeded to tear down the front suspension. Got the shock/spring off, walked to the compressor, got all that un-done and all parts I'll need to transfer (i.e. bushings, dust boot, etc.). No problem so far. Searched around for the front/left shock, got it. Compressed the 1st spring, got the shock in there, hand threaded the top bolt, grabbed the air gun, SNAP!.

I swear, the top 3/4 of the threads and a little below the bolt. BROKE off, causing the shocks to be broken and now leaking. Sounds weird, but the bolt tightened, then just below it..snapped clean off. Now WTF can I do? I've already called out the person I bought them from a few times, waiting to hear back (it's been a few hours) I've emailed KYB asking if they could do anything. I mean, I have everything for these EXCEPT the warranty. Goddamnit, I'm so pissed off!

I can try and get pics later if my friend gets home, he has a digicam.

oh damn, that's a rip. Hopefully everything works out for you, im sure you're bummed. But something to look forward to, I have that same setup and I love it, so once you iron out all the bugs and get the install done, it'll be worth the wait:thumbup:

thats funny cause the same exact thing happened to me a while back while installing these on my accord....DO NOT USE AN AIR GUN FOR THE TOP BOLT!!!!!! thats why it happened. mine were brand new ( i wouldnt blame this guy u get them from) and i got them from jcwhitney and they sent me a new one right away. you can order a new one individually for like 80-90$ shipped from coximport or jcwhitney.. sorry to hear but think of it as a learning experience as i did.
