I doubt you have any kind of serious pothole problems. unlike NY The roads here suck. I scouted the roads i travel on so i knew where almost all the bumps/potholes were before I put my rims back on
Yeah,.. that works if you only travel through roads that you have been to already.
What happens when you travel else where??
I bent a rim on mothers day, and boy was my wife pissed.

Thanks for the replies guys...appreciate it.

I was also leaning towards the c5's because i know they look
badass on heather mist coupes. And before i even dropped my car got really familiar with the streets i travel regularly, so its just the ones ive never been on i have to worry about.

Mizturyous: thanks for the pics, they look great on your car and that makes me want them even more..i see you have the 225/40 series on your car. Would you advise against 225/35 or 215/35's ?

personally the 18x7.5 should be fine not sure about the 18x8 though for me i've bent my 17's a number of times rolling on nitto 450's but mostly bent them when i got flats and couldnt do anything about it. for me u'll catch me going the long way to everywhere since i dont drive up certain streets in NYC unless i know where too look. the times i dont u might catch me doing 50 (in a 30) and suddenly dropping down to 2mph (in a 30) cuz of pot holes. when it rains its worse cuz low profile tires dont have good wet traction already and most pot holes fill up with water so u dont know till u fall in. with me i can afford that with my drop (no fingers gap)

I went with the 225/40's because of ride quality and less chance of bending one if I do happen to hit something. I have no complaints at all on them.

I'm getting 18s for my 2003 Coupe as well. I've been playing around with a tire size calculator. at http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

and from my stock 205/60/16s ... The following are possibilities in tires I want and sizes .. but I don't know if some are too big,

The following, are the preference of tires in order I want them PLEASE tel,l me if you thin one or another is too wide though! My car is NOT yer lowered, but as soon as Eibach and or H&R come out with a kit for the 2003 Accord coups it'll be going down 1.5-1.8". so factor in - say a 1.6" drop.

235/40/18 - ContiExtremeContact - $128 each

And the 225/45/18 is crap selection, and so is the 215/40

WHat is one to do!?!?!

Yeah I bent one rim in the past year I've had them. cost me $105 to fix. Although it's straight, the lip isn't as shiny as the other ones and the guy put mad amounts of clearcoat over this one.

I run on 18x7.5's on my 6th gen with a +42 offset. No rubbing whatsoever. Don't forget to put on your hubcentric rings when you put on your rims
