OK, last week I had the starter replaced in my 1990 Accord EX 2 door. I noticed that when starting, there was a sound being produced. It sounded like when your engine is already on, and you try to start it again. That screech sound. But I am not holding the starting long enough for it to be making that sound. It just makes it as it's starting up. Also, it doesn't always make the sound. Maybe 1 out of every start ups. I'm taking my car back to the shop tomorrow to have them check it out. Just wondering if anybody has any ideas what it could be. Thanks!!!

 

did you find out what the problem is? where did you buy the starter from?

 

If it just makes a whine, the teeth are not catching and not turning your crank to get the engine going. On Accord they do strip easily. Its an easy repair. Also check your battery.
