Default Accord Ex-L 2003 mp3 question...

The honda element has the same mp3 player and is cheaper than the accord.

per the installition instructions for the accord mp3: P/N 08A06-4E1-200

per the installition instructions for the element mp3: P/N 08A06-4E1-200

part numbers are the same!

How difficult do you think it would be for someone with no experience whatsoever to install the OEM mp3 player in the Ex-L?

Also, this is a lease. I was wondering if I bought the one for the accord, could it be removed and used in my next car in 4 years?

Thanks!!!

I don't know anything about the element, but the Accord doesn't just have a radio, and I know with the nav system in mine it became even more complicated since it all has to integrate. Truth is that I wouldn't put that mp3 player in if you want to take it out in a few years. First, you dont know what your new car will be; and second, you would probably want one with more options. This mp3 player does not even display the ID3 tags on the music.....just plays it. Which kinda sucks since I had a 200Watt JVC mp3 player in my old car that I couldn't use.

An option someone in another thread gave was to buy some kind of portable MP3 player (like an iPod) and get one of those things that lets you play over FM in your car.

Even with the Navi, it doesn't show the name or anything? That sucks. And I take it the in-dash 6-disc changer that comes with the navi only plays CD audio, right? What a load!

I'm probably going to be getting an 03 Accord 2.4 EX-L Navi this weekend and I am trying to determine the best audio setup in it.

How would you set up an aftermarket player in the 03 if you have the cd storage area? Would you take the cd storage out or what? How would you do it...?

Even with the navi it doesn't show anything. What is more is that my old player was able to "Random" accross directories and this one can't, so if you want a mix of albums you have to put them all together into one directory.

As far as the 6-changer, yeah, it only reads regular audio. I'm waiting to see if they come out with a head unit that will work, this way I get a 6-disc mp3

The reason I paid Honda's rediculous price is because of the following: the nav accesses the audio system, and needs it to "talk" to you. I think an aftermarket would be easy enough to do on a non-nav car. Since all that crap needed to be integrated I felt I had no other choice...and I also didn't want to wait....even 6CDs pisses me off on long road trips....

And yes, you would remove that whole storage area and replace it:
