Wassup guys, I'm trying to fix up my accord and next on my list is the power antenna. It used to be working fine, but then the antenna wouldn't go up or down.........but the motor still clicked and ran. I just figured i'd buy a new mast. But then i had my aftermarket stereo stolen. I went ahead and bought an oem radio w/ theft function off of ebay and when i plugged it in and turned it on the antenna motor doesn't even run.

I checked the fuse and its fine. Could it be that the radio i purchased has a theft function and my original radio never had one? Or do i need a whole new antenna motor? What could it be?

 

I have had the same problem with my accord as well. It worked, then eventually never went up but motor still clicked and made noise. Now I don't even hear the motor anymore. I haven't given it much thought just because I mainly listen to CD's and reception isn't that bad when I do use the radio and I plan on shaving it off anyways... as far as a solution, I'm not sure... buy a new one?

 

theft function means nothing here. the problem most likely, as far as the motor not working, is your stereo is hooked up wrong, and the power lead for the antenna isnt hooked up properly. there are many things that can go wrong in this wiring situation. but as far as if the motor runs, and the antenna doesnt go up, i have no idea.

 

I think my power attenna lasted about 6 months after I had it replaced the 2nd time, and umm,, after that I ripped it out, waiting to shave the hole, and got a invisible hidden one for the rear window that I've yet to install too :P.....those things are useless, not worth the money to fix at all.
