Default Light output w/ blackhousings?

I'm considering painting my headlight housings black on Saturday but i'm wondering will that hurt my light output? Also opinion on wheather to paint the turn signal part or not.

If you do it correctly, and don't paint the rear reflector part, the max it could hurt your output is 1-2% or so I would say. To be honest tho, I think it actually focused the light into more of a line tho, which I like!

It's quite easy just time consuming.

When painting. DO NOT paint behind the bulb or to the left and right of the bulb. You can paint right below the bulb. This will reduce glare into on coming traffic and some glare that light up the road signs.

If you get a reflective paint, something with metal flakes in it, your light output should be the same. When i painted the headlights on my 03 coupe gunmetal grey, i used a metallic paint which even reflects the blinker (eyebrow) very well.
