Default Clutch problems

On my way to work this afternoon I was stopped at a light and when I put it in 1st and hit the gas to go my rpms shot up but the car would barely move. It doesnt do it all the time but mostly only when I get on the gas pedal hard through 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Im also sure I need a new master cylinder because of the fluid leaking inside the firewall but would a bad master cylinder cause the slipping or is that basically a bad clutch? Another thing is my clutch pedal seems to engage too soon and disengage too late.

It sounds to me like you have a bad master cylinder AND a worn-out clutch.

In other words you're gonna be spending some money. For the master cylinder and/or brakes if u get them done too DON'T go to Just Brakes, they will rape you. Maybe try to order parts online and hope that your car will hold up a lil longer til they get there.
