I was looking at my stock exhaust and noticed a secod canister type thing about 2 feet behind the muffler (looks like a mini muffler)......What is it???? none of my friends cars have, so i was wondering what it is and what it does. Thanks for any replies!

 

Probably your catalytic converter bro.

 

from someone on vtec.net they said that the exhause goes through like one muffler before the two in the back. They actually removed the two in the rear and added piping to the back and said it sounded good.

 

I know its not the catalytic converter. Its like halfway between the cat. converter and the regular muffler.

Yup. Resonator. Looks like a mini-muffler

 

so what does the resonator do??

 

It does what all resonators do, it makes ish quieter. In this case, the exhaust.
