Default Any benifit from removing.......

A/C compressor and unit from my car? I dont use it. It uses too much gas and the way proces are now. DAMN.

The only time I would use it is when I go to Fla. once in a blue moon. I could remove the unit and all after I go this Sept.

Would I have to get a different belt since removing the compressor would take out a pully?

Sorry for the question. just trying to get some info.

1) I'm never selling it

2) Thats how they are brought to the US... NO A/C/ the dealer has to install the A/C/ thats why its an extra and cost more.

Yes, there is benefit. you would lose about 60 lbs of unnecessary weight. you would alsofree up more power from your engine cause you wouldn't have to run that accessory.

But, like he said - it would hurt resale value.

Thanks for the info. Think I'll do it tomorow. What kind of power gain would I get?

For temp reasons, like going to the track, you can remove the belt, to get more power. You can also take off the power steering belt for more power.
