2001 V6 Accord Brake Change
Hey guys, I had a few questions about basic brake changes on my `01 Accord. I just want to change the front brake pads. First, do I have to disconnect or drain any fluids? Second, what brake pads do you recommend? Third, to compress the caliper piston back, do I need a certain honda press? Like one with a certain design to "screw" the piston back into place? Or can i just use the old brake pad and C-clamp technique? I'e heard that the C-clamp techniqe can damage the caliper. Finally, what do I look for when I'm checking my rotor? How do I inspect it?
I'm pretty new at auto repairs and I'm really anxious to get started. Thanks for the help.

first thing I would do is wrap a rag around the brake reservoir and leave the cap open. Brake pads I would just stick with oem ones.
You can use a c-clamp with the old brake pads to press the cylinder back in.
The rear pistons are the screw type design you mentioned.
you can also use bendex ( or bendix ) brake pads. They are good to. I used to use those on my stock rotors.
