Katzkin leather seat covers
I'm interested in buying some leather seat covers from Katzkin and I wondered if anyone here has ever installed them before. They want $500 for a professional install:eh: WHAT!? I'm sure that I could do it myself because they do send you a do- it- yourself installation CD. But I wanted to know if anyone had any experience with doing this?
From what I have heard is that you simply "peel" the current material off of the seat (taking out the seat and unzipping the covers) then simple put the katzkins covers on the seat and aligning it's velcro straps on the cushion parts are the seat and straightening the new covers out so it looks nice. DEFINATELY not worth 500$
From what i've heard, installing it yourself takes hours, but better than paying $500. You need some special tools to attach the 0-rings to the seat. I've also heard that you should be prepared to tear your hands up doing this. No personal experience, just stories i've heard. Katzkin DOES NOT have velcro or zippers on their leather, unless it's a new thing....
from what i know katzkin covers are a complete bioch to install. there are special tools need to wrap the chairs only because the fit will be extremely tight.
i'm pretty sure that for $500 you get front and rear seats covered and 2 tone colors aren't an extra charge.

:wavey: oooh oooh oooh They are a bitch to install....I had pros do it....I tried but it takes skill do get everything really tight without and bad looking spots...If I remember correctly Guggan install his own, but it took him a weekend and he had to redo it cause it looked like crap.
Taken the old stuff off is kinda easy, just takes time.
I paid 300 for mine to be isntall (Just seats, No door inserts)
