Default 99 accord suspension

okay... this question has been asked many times before... but this is for a specific car... so please bear with it....

i have a 1999 honda accord lx....

4 door, 5 spd....

i want to do the suspension right the first time... a decent drop on 17's

strictly performance and i don't want to take up the m n' m's on the road

what do i need and what are the best brands to use?

thank's in advance....

the problem is their are so many different suspension set-ups that are all very good. it all depends what your looking for.

i understand you want to look good on 17s and not be slammed, but you need to get even more specific. that's a good start, but their are so many good options given those parameters. that's why i said use the search button, cause you only get the same responses that have already been said tons of times.

now if you get more specific and answer these questions you'll get better answers.
ie: how much money you want to spend? do you want adjustability? do you drive in the snow? do you drive on rough roads and need a smooth ride v. stiff ride? do you need to clear speed bumps or steep driveways? what are your plans for the car ie. autocrossing, hard street driving, or just for look?

oh come on.... simple question... simple answer....

let's not turn this into another i'm smarted than you forum... okay?

1. i live one guam.... unless guam has tilted about 90 degrees off it's axis... it's not going to snow here anytime soon....

2. i said strictly performance.... not wanting to take the m n' m's (reflectors) off the road.... so i'm pretty sure it's not just for the look...

3. i don't think i made cost or adjustability an issue because i wanted the answers to vary just a little bit...

but you know what.... you win....

i wasn't specific enough..

would you like to know how much i weigh? how about my girl? angle of the roads? average wind velicity @ 80 mph? i'm sure they all effect tilt on a car... if other people weren't grilled for specifics... why should i be?

i do know a little about suspension.... i just wanted to get han opinions since everyone seems to know what they prefer... all except you...

i asked what was needed just in case someone else would like to know too.... why should the answer to a question just benefit the one asking?

easy up there...no need to get angry. we just needed a little bit more information so we can answer your question more specifically, that's all.

well, in my experience, almost any one will work. i personally, like being able to switch height if i needed to so i went with coilovers. there are a lot of brands out there and i went with Weapon R(not the best but i did my mod early before any of the current ones came out and weapon r was the only one with coils).
If you aren't into coils, then look for a spring/shock combo. I have tokico 5 pt. adjustables on my accord and i love them. the reason why i have adjustables is cuz i'm currently riding on my stock rims (15" alloys) and i haven't had the time, nor the $$$, to buy new rims but i will so i figure instead of buying a whole new sus. setup...might as well be flexable.

If $$$ isn't an issue, i wish i had waited and bought the TEIN setup....good god, that was an expensive setup but, like i said, if money wasn't an issue, i'd go TEIN.

Relax bro. The more specific you are, the more help you'll get.

I have a 99 Accord. I have H&R sports and I'm about to mate them with Koni Yellow adjustable shocks. If you want more performance, get Race springs with Koni's.

Or TEINS like mentioned above.

There are tons of options...the more specific you are, the more help you'll get.

Just FYI, after you get 17" wheels get some very good performance tires...they will make a bigger difference than any springs will. A set of Bridgestone Potenza S-03's turned my RSX into a damn F1 racer, and they gave my old Accord (same model as my current one) the feel of a Prelude in the twisties.
