hello. Ive had my aem cai for a while now, and i love it. However, i have one major complaint. Is it just mine, or do all aem cais sound like a damn fart can at WOT towards the redline?? I mean....when i punch it, it gives that nice throaty cai noise, but as the rpm rises higher and higher, the cai starts sounding like a dirty fart can. Im pretty sure i did a flawless installation and i dunno if anyone else is experiencing that. Thanks.

 

happens to me too but its normal. just don't drive at WOT near redline

 

yeah mine seems to sound like a zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzziiiiiiiiiiiippppppppp kinda noise, but that's also a 3 inch cai on an h22.

 

I have an iceman CAI. it definately gets louder at WOT but never in a bad way. It may be due to the fact that it is plastic instead of metal.

 

i have an Injen CAI and while the RPMs go up...it goes from a *whoooooosh.....brrrrrrr.........rooooooooooomm... ..WAAAAAAH....

I never experienced any Fart Can experience

Welcome to the world of a highflow intake. All intakes make alot of noise because they are designed for performance rather than comfort. Flowing as much air as possible as smoothly as possible takes priority over being quiet.

The stock intakes are much more restrictive with loops and of course the resonators, but those resonators help keep the intake muffled. By taking those out completely, you'll flow more air, but you'll create a racket when on the gas also.

nizmugen...that intake gets all crazy near readline like it's bout to explode or somethin huh!!...man i missed that..haha ain't got that sound with the short ram
