Default Will my wheels rub?

I drive a 97 Accord. Right now, I have H&R springs, dropped 1.5". I plan on getting 18x7.5" rims with 225/40/18 Sumitomo HTR+ tires and KYB AGX shocks. Anyone have a similar setup? Will rubbing be a problem?

Thanks

The biggest factor in whether your setup will rub is going to be offset. Do you know the offset of the wheels you are looking at?

Also, I assume you have a little uncorrected negative camber in the rear, and that will help the tires tuck in the wheel wells on those hard corners or over bumps.

I have the same setup as you (but mine is 99), H&R sports, with 18x7.5 My buddy does as well, but he has +42 offset, rubs occasionally, so I got +45 offset, and I've had no problems rubbing at all. When I jack up the front to change oil, the rears tuck in the fenders, so no problems.

Basically all this rambling just means you'll be safest with a +45 offset.

if you want, you can send me the wheels and i can put them on, and find out if they rub. (there is no guarentee that you will get them back...)

I'm getting +43 18x7.5" w/ 225/40-18 rubber on Tuesday. If I actually do get to lower my car, the one thing that I am not sure about is:

How much can I correct rear camber without rubbing?

I think I'll save the money on the rear camber kit, unless I have proof that it can be done w/o rubbing.

Jschmid, do you have bad rear tire wear? I am going for the same H&R Sport drop as you. Also, does your buddy have rear camber correction?
