Default Tunned Intake DIY

i just had this Idea, about DIY something that's been around, wondering if it's any good though? Comments and suggestion are welcome, If any1 tried it before, can you leave feedbacks? thanks.

On some turbo Applications, most of the easier and cheaper way was to add an air blower between the Air Filter and Intake Pipe.

I want to take this small Motor with a Small fan, and make it an Air Suction device and mount it in the same position as described above. Of course, some modification are required.

Is that a good Idea? I live in GA, so there're not a WHOLE lot of rain or Flood. BTW, there's a box at the bottom of my car that surround the Air Filter of my CAI and help block water from entering. My car is 94 EX.

If we can do that, wouldn't it be better than AEM v2?

Again, thanks for suggestions and feedbacks.

Fake Turbo? on Ebay? Geez, what people will think to sell next? Anyways, i was just thinking of the Mechanism of Sucking more air for the Intake as TUNED INTAKE, not related to turbo or anything.

yeah they had those things they called "tornadoe" or something like that with a fan on the inside that appaently sucked more air into it. tons of infomercials on TV for them saying that they increase horsepower. im not sure bout that.

I've did some research about that Tornado plug-in,

It DOES NOT suck more air into Intake, its shape and design allow air to Ventillate thoroughly around the pipe by making the amount of air entering the intake flow through the Tornado and make it twisted. However, based on physic, it's better for intake system as described, but based on the fact, it's NOT. It only helps when A WHOLE LOT AMOUNT of AIR is being SUCKED in; in 99% of all cases (non-turbo cars) it's useless.

My theory is actually MAKING a small FAN Powered by small motor that ACTUALLY SUCK in MORE AIR into the intake, it's totally DIFFERENT than the Tornado Shag9yBrDr mentioned above.

Sorry if my CAPTIONS kinda annoying, I just make it more stand out for those who decided to skim through my LONGGGG BORING text.

you mean something like this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...&category=6770

Doesn't work. it's good in theory, but nobody has actually put the R&D into designing something that would actually work. I'm not expert, but it seems to me that the amount of power you'd need to supply worth while pressure would exceed that provided by your cars electrical system. I'd imagine you'd need a bigger alternator or a second one, which would draw away from engine power anyway, at which point you could have just gone with a supercharger. :dunno:

but hey, if you're smart enough to design something that actually works, go for it. good luck, and don't sell your failures on ebay.

ah ha, thanks for the thought, I was thinking of it too. If my electric motor doesn't suck enough air compared to the intake electronic system, then it would prevent the original air flow. However, I believe that I can make it work (as a Junior in EET and CET) so I think i can do something.

IT's interesting how you found that on ebay. I did take a close look at the design of that Ebay seller's Item, It's similar to what I though, however, he did relocate the filter and that small motor wouldn't handle enough air flow. I'll try to figure things out and update you guys with the process.
