I recently took my accord in to the dealer for the airbag recall. While trying to leave they said my front and rear engine mounts were busted. This is the second time I have been told about my engine mounts (the first time was for just one mount), but it's always by the dealer. The last time was over 2 years ago. I have taken it to many shops between MD, NY and NC for oil changes, tire rotations, ect. I had it inspected by NC to register it here in the state. Nothing was said about the mounts and the vehicle passed state inspection. Is there any truth to this happening? What would I notice while driving the vehicle? Is there anything I should look for because when I look at the mounts they look fine to me? I also don't notice anything strange while driving except when going WOT from basically a stand still the car will pull to the right sometimes. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Well, the rubber in your mounts could be worn down? And yes, you would definitely notice the engine going wild if a mount was broke, let alone two. My buddy has a Mercury cougar and his front mount broke where the bolts that hold the mount onto the engine are. So at first glance, the mount looks fine, but look closer and it's he mount's mount, lol, that was busted. And when you pop the hood and watch the engine when he put it into gear, the engine moves about 8 inches. Then shakes like crazy when driving.

 

Mine doesn't shake when i drive. If I rev it with the hood open the engine doesn't shake that much. I don't notice much when driving but I will take a closer look tomorrow at the nuts and bolts and see if I notice anything.
