Default Pissed Off Fob

Ok so, every once in a while (more often than I'd like) when I hit the lock button on my FOB after getting out of my car, the horn starts blaring as if I had hit the panic button or something. I thought maybe I was bumping the little red panic button at the bottom, so I ripped the f'n thing out of the FOB. It still happens. It happened once last night when I got home, and again today when I got to work. I have to hit the unlock button really fast, and then lock it again and everything's cool. Anyone had this problem?

thanks

do you have the factory alarm?

my clifford alarm did that too. but just because it would automatically lock the doors when i drive then it takes like 5 seconds to unlock it when you shut the car off. so when i'm in a hurry i would unlock manually, get out and arm it. but then it would still unlock and the alarm would go off

if you have an alarm, there should be a red status led. the horn should only honk once after you press the lock button twice if you have factory keyless/alarm

I'm assuming you mean a red LED other than the one on the door by the lock? that, and the one on the stereo, are the only ones.

ahh.. u might have an alarm.... my friends 01 2dr ex has a factory alarm, with the status led next to the door lock. try this: lock you car with the window open. then open the door by pullin up the door lock thingy (not the switch) and open the door. the horn should start honking

oh btw, if you have the factory alarm, it will honk rapidly 3 times when u lock if one of your doors/trunk/hood (if you have a hood switch intsalled) is not closed properly
