Default Cannot get out of park!!(Auto)

I have to manually use the shift-lock release to get out of park. The little 'click' I usually hear when depressing the brake pedal is no longer there, which is what lets me push the button to shift out of park.
Arggghhhh!!
Has anybody had this problem?
It has to be something electrical right??

My 98 Accord Coupe does the same damn thing. What I usually do is hit the brake pedal a few times until I hear the click, and then it'll shift out.

One thing a mechanic told me is that there may be a coin or something inhibiting the solenoid that releases the shift lock.

If you find something else out please let me know, because this shiat is getting on my nerves too.

Just hope it isn't the shift lock solenoid. My friends' went out in her '95 and it cost well over $250 for Honda to fix it. I am guessing most of that is the cost of the part, since it is not hard to get to.

My guess is it is the shift lock solenoid. Otherwise, it's electrical.

No, I don't have an aftermarket shift knob. I took the shifter off, and everything looks fine. Where is the shift lock solenoid located, under the shifter?
I tried checking all my fuses, they all seem fine.
This sucks...

I know that.....but the prob could be in the center column or by the brake pedal.
