I was driving home and I looked down at the gauge cluster and i notice my fuel gauge the needle is WAY past Empty and the fuel light is on, I'm like WTF because I know it has about a half a tank in it since before it screwed up it indicated that. So i pulled over at a gas station, shut it off and turned it back on and sure enough the needle went right back to a half a tank where it should be. What could have caused it to go all the way past empty like that out of no where? Has anyone else had this happen? thanks

 

Could be bad grounding, loose wire, or some other electrical problems.
