Default accord body ques

Ok i am a little confused. I own a 96 accord and a while ago i was in a little accident that messed up the right hand side of my fornt bumper. the only part that was really messed up was that lower right turn signal on the bumper was cracked in half all the way around the bumper. i guess underthe bumper there is some kind of stirafone that is under the bumper but what ever. I need another bumper and i have been looking around on ebay and sh#t i see that there is something called a oem bumper cover. now my quetion is what is the differents between a bumper cover that i can get for like 50-60 dollars appossed to me going to the honda dealership and gettting a oem bumper for like 230 dollars i am kinda lost can someone explain the differents to me. thanks

well if you get a bumper cover, its just the fascia part, not the actual bumper pieces behind.... like the bumper support etc....but all you really need is the bumper cover if nothing was crushed. And it is very easy to replace the bumper cover as well.

The difference between OEM and aftermarket body parts is that aftermarket parts have a tendency to have problems like not fitting properly, or not holding paint properly. Sometimes you can find used bumper covers on ebay for cheap, but I wouldn't buy anything less than OEM unless you really just need *something* now.

yes but you can buy the whole bumper or just the bumper cover.... and i think thats what his main question of difference was. But yes OEM are better quality.

www.autobodypartsonline.com is one of the cheaper ones. Do a search around to find some others.

Sand and prime well before painting, and it won't be that bad at all.
