Default Is it worth it?

I am thinking about getting a header to compliment my CAI and catback on my 94 Accord LX 5speed, but is it worth it? I mean, how much better is my engine gonna perform w/that header on it versus the stock one? Would I be alright w/ intake and exhaust, or should I just bite the bullet and pay $300 for a ceramic DC 4-2-1 header?

an aftermarket header would definately be worth it, especially with intake and exhaust. The header helps alot considering you have an LX, if you had an ex, then it wouldnt be such a big thing.

you will get a fuller sound out of your exhaust system with the header. performance isn't going to be huge, but you'll get a small gain...and your engine bay looks a lot cleaner with a nice header, if looks are something you care for.

Well, I definitely am attracted to the look it'll give my engine bay, and DC Sports seems to be the big name in headers, and performance increases are nice too. The main issue here is finances and pritorities. I am doing a little over 3g's in mods/repairs to my car, I have it all mapped out and when all is said and done, I'll have like $400 left. My list includes timing belt, all drive belts, Hayame catback, DC header, Clifford Concept 600 alarm, smoked windows, paint, flush mount wing, oem front bumper, and AGX shocks. The one thing left off is the clutch, I think I need one cause mine shudders first thing in the am. Or could it be my clutch master cylinder going out that causes my clutch pedal to only come up halfway once in a while? When it does this, if I don't realize it and try to start from a stop, it'll stall cause it catches almost immediately when you let off the clutch. I can catch it most of the time and simply pull the clutch up the rest of the way and it's good to go. Am I focusing my attention on something for no reason or is it most likely a clutch issue?

hm.......no clutch pressure.......you should start off by checking the clutch fluid under the hood and work your way from there. Also check the spring that enables the clutch to pop up all the time, then u should end up checking the clutch master cylinder if all is fine. I think its definitely a clutch related problem and not the fact that you're paying way too much useless attention.

As far as header goes, it aint gonna make a world of difference for performance but for looks, it will add lots. Nomatter what, get the ceramic dc headers. SS headers will rust and turn purple and red and burgundy in about 6 months max and ceramic does a little better job of heat dissipation than the ss. 100% of ppl that own the ss regret buying the ss headers. Get the ceramic one.

That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

The header will not only dress up the engine bay, but it will help the CAI and exhaust reach their full potential. Otherwise, the stock "log-type" manifold would constrict the air.

Did you just call him an idiot then, none-the-less, reinforce his point?

I was definitely going w/ceramic, I think the ss ones look cool when they start changing colors but not $400 cool. I found someone on a board who's selling a month old dc ceramic 4-2-1 header for $200, so hopefully if nobody has claimed it, I'll get it. As for the clutch issue, I think im gonna hold off on replacing it right now, just seems like I may be barking up the wrong tree, I know the fluid level is fine, maybe it needs to be bled. Or maybe the problem lies elsewhere, im gonna have them take a look at it when they do my timing belt/water pump and drive belts.

What are you talking about? Its known already that the EX has a lot better header than the LX in 5th gen's. Most people who have ex's dont expect much help at all if they have an EX w/ aftermarket header(minus the looks), but those who have an LX(like this guy) will notice a lot MORE improvement then if they had an EX. The LX header, on atlest 5th gen's is restricted, unlike the EX's. Maybe you should get a little more info on 5th gen's before putting other's statements down.

I'll say it again.... u'll gain more (meaning total power gain) with having the headers on a LX than a EX because of the way the factory headers were already built.

Don't ceramic headers crack rather easily or something... This could just be a rediculous comment but I think I heard that somewhere once...
