Default check out this new battery (with a kill switch)

i'm in the market for a new battery for my 6th gen sedan (4 cyl) and came across these die-hard batteries. i think i'm gonna go with die-hard instead of optima batteries because they provide more cold cranking amps for like $30-$40 less than optimas. plus look at this new "security" battery they now have with a built in kill switch. i'm not sure how good it is but it sure seems very interesting. does anyone have this installed?

no one will know since that sears link is to the main page (they set up links per user per session).

a model # may help though....

anyway the reason why optima cost more is they are gel cel, not standard lead acid batteries. they are a lot more durable than a standard lead acid battery plus they are safer as far as spilling acid, and so on...my feeling is unless you need the features that an optima has you are wastin gyour money.
the die hard with the kill switch sounds interesting i wish i could find any info on it...how much are they anyway?

Here is my .02

1) Not worth, I just got the SUV battery and I am happy hmmm power....

2) If they want the car they will just back a flatbed up to it and take it in less than 10 sec...

3)If you have an alarm it does the same thing but cutting the power to the ignition...

4)Easy work around is jumping the battery and the car will still start.....

5) you have yet another damn remote on your key chain

6) If you do not have an alaram, people will be like what is that remote for, and you get to say...To disarm my battery:fawk:

That battery isn't new, it's been out for a while now, at least a couple years. I was gonna get one for my Civic after it got stolen but they didn't make them in that size.

Sorry, but the Diehard security battery was eventually recalled because of problems people had. I had the battery myself for two years and it eventually malfunctioned because of heat issue. I went to NTB and found out this info. They exchanged the security battery for a DieHard Gold battery instead.

that is an old thread from way back in teh day but tis all good. BTW for those that dont know the "KILL SWITCH" in there can be shorted out resulting in starting of the car which is the reason why when it first came on the market no one bought it years ago
