oh, okay. I'll stick to the carsound hi flow cat. Mufflertech has one for about 60 dollars plus shipping but i think its a weld-on, and not a bolt on......and im not sure which size i need to get. 2.5" and 3" are available.

2.5 is perfect....the $60 is a weld in, i paid about $60 for install on mine but htey had to do cutting nad other weird stuff too....the direct fit is like $90, and you can bolt that in yourself.

i would like a bolt on cat but i dont think they have a bolt on one at mufflertech.com. Also, the 2.5 inch one they sell at mufflertech.com doesnt say its a hi-flow one, so maybe it can just be a regular oem spec cat?? the other 3" ones say hi-flow, but 2.5" one doesnt.

ya know dood, as far as i can remember, the fine in CA for getting caught with a test pipe on a street car is 2 or 3 times what it would cost you to just get a high flow cat. . plus the 1 or 2 whp you get out of it may just not be worth it. . .

some of my neighbors have told me that the fine for having a testpipie can go as much as one thousand dollars depending on where you live. EEk......thas why i will go for the hi-flow cat.

That brings me to some more question.

1. If the 2.5 inch inlet cat is 2.5 inch but the header pipe is 2 inch, how will this work?

2. And if the 2.5 inch outlet from cat is 2.5 inches and a catback is 2.25 inches, how will they fit?

Thanks.

actually the $1000 is anywhere in the US....Federal Emission laws...state laws can add more....they most often go for the shops though to make an example, and the fines are up to $10,000 there....

as far as teh size issues...an exhaust shop can make it work with reducers, or proper sized flanges. the direct fit cats though will bolt right in as they are designed to be a direct replacement for the stock cat.
