Default tranny change/engine swap

I have an '02 2dr Accord v6, and was wondering if it was possible to do an engine swap, and switch the 3.0 vtec with the 3.2 engine from the Acura CL type-S. I read about this being done in the latest Sport Compact Car, and was wondering if it could be done for the '02, as well.

Heh, I dont even know where to get the engine, if anyone could point me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I want to get rid of the 4-speed automatic tranny in my car, and replace it with the 5-speed manual, but have no idea how to go about it, or where to purchase the manual tranny.

Thanks alot you guys,

A guy who owns a shop where I'm from in Utah was doing that swap, but I don't know the guy, so I don't the details. I just saw the pics.

But if you were going to swap that motor, why not just put in the 6 speed that comes from the CL-S along with the motor instead of the Accord 5speed?

But overall, I'd say be prepared from some custom work to get it all to fit and you better have deep pockets.

It would be so awesome though...do it!

In all honesty though...if you want that j32 motor badly...just sell your Accord and buy a CL-S. Probably cheaper than doing the swap.

EDIT: Welcome to the board!

Brand new CL-S with 6 speed sells for $30,550. Unless you want to be super original, I'd sell your car and go with the CL-S.

jschmids right. If you wanted more power, you could always opt for the Comptech Supercharger and see if you can get a hold of a CL-S or even '03 Accord 6-speed manual transmission. Doing a CL-S swap when you already have a V-6 probably isn't worth it.

Ok, gotcha. But, being realistic, if I swapped the 4-speed auto to
a 6-speed manual from an '03 Accord or Acura, what else would I have to change?

Thanks,
