yeah, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday are the days you wanna avoid the gas pumps. Weekend travelers, paydays, etc. all increase the demand on these days, so gas suppliers take advantage by jacking up the prices.
Even if I've only got a dollar and change in my checking account (happens quite often), I'll go to the pumps as late as I care to go on Wednesday night to fill up. That way by the time the actual $15 - 22 charge hits my account on Friday, I'll have the money to cover it. Gotta love "Pay at the Pump".
I've been surprised on some Tuesdays and Wednesdays, though. Go to work in the morning rushing to make it in and see gas for a good, good price. Fukc around and try to get gas on my way home, and the prices done gone up $0.10 - $0.20!
But then I know of two places--a BP and a Shell--who are always a bit late in the price change. So if I see that gas has suddenly gone up in price in the middle of the day, I'll retreat to either of those gas stations.Yes, I may ride around 30 minutes looking for a better gas price if I was caught with a middle-of-the-day price change. But my satisfaction from saving $1.50 - $3.00 ($0.10 - $0.20 x 15 gallons) is much greater than the $1.399 gallon of gas I'm burning running across town looking for the cheaper price.
Also, there are some parts of town that allways have a cheaper gas price. I usually fill up there even if I have a half-tank of gas!
Just stick with "name brand" places. I've heard that their gas is purer and higher quality, and the little places just sell refused stuff. :dunno: Not often that much of a price difference, so I usually go to Exxon Mobile.

I hit up two places. Kroger and Sams Club. Usually sams club is cheaper just depends where I am at. If you pay with a sams card you get 5 cents off already the cheapest gas in town. At kroger if you use the kroger plus card you get 3-5 cents off depending on the type of the gas.

You guys think you have it bad paying a 1.39 or even 1.55 a gallon for gas come to Northern Cali and see some of the gas stations have regular at 1.79 a gallon which makes supreme 1.99 and one day i was running short and on the gs light and had to fork over 2.05 a gallon so be happy with a 1.55 a gallon.
