Default competing cars?

Here is a list of competing cars :

The TSX is meant to compete with the likes of the Audi A4 (FWD), Saab 9-3 sedan (FWD) and the Volvo S40 (FWD), and so far, it competes quite well.

TSX directly competes with these:

Acura TSX ($26,990) - 200rpm@6800rpm, 166ftlbs@4500rpm
Audi A4 1.8t ($25,760) - 170hp@5900rpm, 166ftlbs@1950rpm
BMW 325i ($28,495) - 184hp@6000rpm, 175ftlbs@3500rpm
Saab 9-3 Linear ($26,670) - 175hp@5500prm, 195ftlbs@2500rpm
Volvo S40 ($24,595) - 170hp@5250rpm, 177ftlbs@1800rpm
Jaguar X-Type 2.5 ($29,970) - 195hp@6800rpm, 178ft@3000rpm
MB C230 ($28,610) - 189hp@5800rpm, 192ftlbs@3500rpm

They all meet at least 1 of 2 criteria for a premium brand.

1. inline4 or small displacment 6 (<3.0L)
2. starts well under $30k

The IS300 might be able to fit in as competitor because it's a very nimble little car, but because of the significantly higher base price and larger displacement and higher power, I would say it fits in the class of larger higher hp entry level cars such as the BMW 330, MB C320, G35, and Acura TL(-S).
