wow, thats in really nice shape!! My first car was a 89 DX coupe... it wasnt the best... but it got me around pretty well... the interior in mine was mint, thats why I bought it.

If you're gonna do anything to that car... keep it nice and simple... simple wheels, like a 17" 5-star... minimal drop, probably like an inch... stock spoiler... light tint on the windows... a quiet exhaust, if you're going to add any "performance" additions.

You'd waste your time trying to make that car really fast... unless you upgraded to the injected engine, then you could get some decent power out of it... but it would probably be cheaper to buy an LX-i and sell the LX.

Either way... good luck with it! Keep it clean and rust-free!! BTW- how many miles on it?? Is it your only car? I see a 5th gen accord in one picture... is that yours too? or a family members/friends?

Yeah, when i bought the car i thought the engines in all of the models were the same. Then i found out about www.3geez.com, so i signed up there and i learned a lot more then i knew about my car, and found out that it was a carb and i couldn't put an intake and **** like that on it, that and it only has 98 hp so the 89 LXi's have 122hp so if i find a good one for sale i'll probably sell mine and buy it or see if someones up for a trade. Its got 178k miles, and my car only, i got it for $1600 november 9th i believe. The 5th gen is my brothers, its an ex w/ vtec, im tryin to convince him to rice it out like getting a body kit and exhaust but hes not a fan of the exhaust, im tryin to tell him it would be ghey w/o exhaust but he still wants the body kit.

welcome...........

i think 89 accords should receive the bulletproof award because they are so well built. Even to this day, i see many many 89 accords with 200k+ miles running like new. If you're really into speed and you're going to have that car for a long time, u can pull off a B series engine swap. Dont get me wrong, it should only be done on ur accord because of the light weight and engine bay design, which makes a B series swap very compatible. It wont cost u a fortune like the JDM H22A swap. But if the accord will be with you for a short time, you shouldnt do much to it. Maybe a drop, quiet exhaust like the Apex Ws, etc.

Car looks awesome man. Mad clean for an older model. I love the fact that some people actually care about keeping there car's clean, even if they are old. If you care; 3M Tar and Adhesive Remover (Spray) will remove the white stuff on your black moldings, and then following with a dressing made for black molding pieces like Back to Black or something will really help the look by a lot. Awesome old-school Accord, keep her in good shape.

SO far everyone has been pretty postive as far as opinions go. Comtemplate this subject a little more though man. 14 year old car, do you really want to spend money on that car ? If you do im telling you now that you "might" regret it one day. I think you would be better off just saving up money while you drive that car around ( its a nice car as is ). Just pimp the 89 accord for a while and save your cash and when you have enough money for what you want buy, get yourself a accord or whatever you want with your cash and then start modding. Start with a little more reliable car.

That is just my opinion and im just trying to help you think ahead of time. If I came off like an asshole im sorry. Good luck with whatever decision you make.
