No 5th gens had 5 lugs. V6 Accords started using 5 lugs in 1998.

i coulda sworn 5th gen V6's used 5-lugs. but sure enough, there's a V6 in the parking lot with 4-lug. Searched Ebay car sales just to be sure--all 4-lug.

Gen5--2.7liter V6 (pre-98) Cars had 4lug wheels. (V6 did have thier own unique design though.) (4x114.3mm) same as prelude

Gen6--3.0liter V6 (98+) Cars all had 5 lug wheels.
15" on the Sedan; 16" on the Coupe-V6EX (5x114.3mm) same as 97+ ludes.

Gen6--2.3liter I4 (98+) Cars all had 4 lug wheels.
15" on all models except DX (14") (4x114.3mm) same as pre-97 ludes.

Anyone know of a gen6 4lug --> 5lug conversion for 4cyl cars?

There were. They used the 2.7L C27 engine from the old Legend. But they only had 4 lugs.

if you gotta Auto, why not try to work with the parts from the V6 Auto. From what i've researched so far, all the wheel/hub assemblies for Acura/Honda have 4 screws in a square--whether they have 4-lug or 5-lug wheels. But I imagine after replacing the hub assembly with a 5-lug assembly, you'll have to at least upgrade the brake rotors (and the wheels of course). But what I'm not sure of is the potential need to upgrade the brake calipers to fit the new 5-lugged rotor.

But I'm sure sufficient aftermarket 5-lug rotors are available with sufficient calipers. Hell, that might just be a good time/excuse to upgrade to some "performance" braking stuff.:thumbup:

I'm all into this. I'm currently looking at the '90 - '95 Legends to see if it's possible since they did make a manual transmission with 5-lug wheels.

But now I gotta look into the Preludes as well. I'm sure they made a manual transmission prelude with the 5-lugs wheels, right?

is there a performance difference between 4 and 5 lug? Are 5 lugs more dependable? But then again, i never head of a wheel "snapping" off before.

Whats the advantages?
