Default Relocating Sub..... Possible? 5th Gen

Hey---

A couple days ago at honda one of the techs put a custumers 15 inch sub in between the rear speakers on a civic...... So i was thinking about doing the same thing.... but i would have to take out the middle brake light in order to do so.... do you think its worth doing? And would the sound of the bass be any better?

You do realize that to do this you have to cut all of the metal under your carpet on your back dash... so I hope you have a major tool to do this with... and make sure that your sub is ok for free air use... most aren't... otherwise you will have poor sound quality. Besides the fact, I don't think that a 15" will fit there anyways.

waste of time IMO.
you can get much better sound quality from just one 12" decent sub in a box in the trunk, than from a free-air sub in the back deck. you have to brace everything after cutting, you'll loose rigidity, and flat out, you will not get sound quality worth all of the hassle involed.
be different, go ahead and do it, but if you want to do it for sounds, you won't be happy.
