Default CONCLUSION: Resonator In OR Out?

Help guys!

All these threads and I cannot figure out what the bottom line is!!

Leave the resonator IN or OUT of my engine?

In other words will the engine stall when I hit a big puddle?

Because I like the noise, etc.

Well ... I am taking that you have a short ram intake, you shoudn't have any problems if you take the resonator out. Now, if your wheel well lining is gone, then you might have an issue.

I do not have a short ram intake, or any kind of intake. I have a K&N air filter, thats all.

Also one FINAL question---what exactly does a CAI do? Lets the engine breathe freely. What does that mean? More HP? More noise?

I thought you didn't like the noise??? https://www.honda-acura.net/forums/s...threadid=43380

I have mine off and went through streets that were flooded up the curbs, and I never have a problem.

More HP and more noise. If you don't like the noise, it's hardly worth it on Accords...you'll only gain a few WHP. Some cars (like the RSX-S) gain 10 or 15 horsepower.

in or out? depends on where you live and how careful you are. those like me in socal would probably have it out given the dry weather most of the time. worst comes to worst, spend 20 mins and reinstall the stock intake during bad weather. think about those that have winter rims and tires and summer/spring rims and tires. obviously, it's better to take the time to change them out than to ruin something.

I wont be going in any puddles over 6 inches. Thats a FACT. So I took my resonator out. I am wondering once it is out---I tied my K&N air filter to the top of the thing with string. Tough string, wont come off. So the K&N filter is attached well.

I am wondering should I just set the entire unit down where the resonator was? Or what?

I have been getting some noises in reverse---is this normal?

By the way I do notice a HP difference. I took it off the 1st time and didnt notice much then put it back on and DAMN, difference.

Hopefully my MPG wont be changed.

man, you are completely obsessed with this resonator issue aren't you? You will not have any problem with it out, unless you drive through a puddle that is about 3 feet deep.
