Default Y2K Engine Mounts gone bad??

I have a 6G Honda Accord Coupe V6,and i recently noticed a jerky character of my car when i first accelarate, took it to the dealer and they said my engine mount is gone. WTF? the car has only 40,000 miles on it and the engine mounts are bad. The dealer wants to charge 80 bucks to replace it. I think they should cover it under warranty 'cause it's not normal for an engine mount to go out this early. Has this happened to anyone else? Is there a cheaper place i can get engine mounts?

If you drive aggresively or up the power of the engine, then it may happen much earlier.

That's unusual. Hard acceleration usually doesn't weaken them to the point of failing at 40,000 miles. How many mounts have gone bad? If it's more than one, the ride would be unbearable. It might still be covered under warranty, if it's a 2000...depending on mileage.

That price of $80 is going to balloon when they factor in labor charges. Good luck bro.

well, driving the **** out of it WILL ruin them quickly...i have seen some factory replacements last only 15,000 before giving....it's uncommon in hondas, and especially accords, but it's entirely possible....out of 40k, u would have had to run the **** out of it for 39k, but i'll admit i'm capable of doing it.....seems like they would warranty it though....have u checked the recalls for your model.....
