Anyone out there with a 5th gen have those headlights with the 3 lights in the front......I heard that the lighting with those is kind of suspect.......how do they work in terms of with the other lights.....does the halo ring come on with the corner lenses or what? Someone help me out here???

 

Yeah projector lighting from everyone i have heard of is a joke. The halo are just the 3 beam projectors with a "halo" around the city light. As far as corner lights i have never seen them. And i kind of doubt they would make them. But you never know.

 

so i'd be best either just getting the HIDs or some JDM style lights to have instead of the regular boring stock ones?

 

Yes, I have projectors... they look sweet and turn heads but they give me constant problems. My Bulbs constantly go dead... the actual headlight low beam bulb is an H3! and it isn't meant to run off the wattage or something that my car sends to the bulb... Also, they are a huge pain to install... and obviously because of the low beam bulb they are rather dim... although they are sufficient and I get used to it... Also, the ring is only visible at near dark, when the headlights are on... and then the ring isnt visible haha unless you turn off your headlights. So basically... DONT buy them!

 

I have the Tri beam projectors on my car now. When you get the beams angled right they are fine.

I am replacing my headlights with the new Tri Beam Halo with H3 and H1 HID's.

 

Before you do that... First of all the H1 bulb is the high beam bulb and can't be focused at all... and you will simply be blinding everyone with your headlights... Also, HID's will melt these lights in a heart beat! Like I said, you can survive off the light output from the lights... I just would have gotten some JDM black housings if I could go back in time for much better output and reliability.

 

i thought that HID's put out less heat than halogen bulbs?

 

No, HID's put out alot more light than regular bulbs. That's why people get them. Here is some HID halogens vs real HID's

 

if you want to do projectors do them right, with ECE of DOT(and no most aftermarket projectors are NOT DOT certified) projectors, not the usually mickey mouse projectors. Check out the gallery at http://www.illusion-lighting.com that's what lighting is supposed to be. The best for looks and performance is when he takes aftermarket projectors and rips the junk projectors out and puts some real ones in.

If I ever stop being sick I'll be doing a how to to add A4 projectors to standard accord headlight housings. Right now I only have 4300K 9006 retrofit and I was sick of blinding people so I ordered a set of d2s and A4 projectors off of ebay. I'd rather have euro accord housings, but those are way expensive(euro accord has the same housing as a TL except black instead of chrome)
