Got My Sub In (Pics!)
I built my semi-custom sub woofer enclosure and installed it into my Accord this week. Here are pictures for your viewing pleasure.
USX 2080 (280 Watts) + MTX Thunder 6000 10" Sub (For Responsiveness and SQ... and it's cheap :fawk: )
I'm moving the wires this weekend.
Opinions? Thanks!

I think you would have been happier w/the bass had you fired it towards the trunk, but to each his own. Looks good mang. Oh yeah, I also think you should move the brackets to the side of the box if possible, or try to paint em to match the carpet color so they don't stand out so much
Well I know all about car audio and whatnot. The reason I didn't fire towards my trunk is because of responsiveness and looks. I didnt want the sub to be seen since I was planning all along to caulk it like that... haha yes its completely sealed and that was my biggest goal, along with looks of course. Once again I'm not going for SPL, only SQ.
I payed 25 dollars for the sub new and about 75 for the amp. The sub is rated at 250 watts RMS from MTX... which is basically worth crap because noone rates worth **** these days haha, but I still used this as a general reference.
Of course I built the box myself and whatnot... I'm about to move the wires to hide them and find a way to blend in the clamps... they are only screwed with one screw to my spare tire cover so that I can rotate them to get the box out if necessary... and with the design on the box, I don't really even need them so I will probably end up taking them out. On the top of the box on the side with the sub in it the wood extends about 3 extra inches after the top of the box wood meets it... if you have my car you will notice there is a small space shaped like an upside down "V" up there that this extra wood sticks up into to hold the box in place... and obvioulsy it's not moving side to side. A big problem with how I drive is it moving around if you know what I mean.
AccordSleeper... what amp would you suggest over this one?
Oh BTW it's plenty loud for me, If I wanted something loud I would have gone with a Tempest, XXX, Brahma, W7 etc... I just got it metered for the hell of it... it was free to meter from a guy here haha... but it was an official one, as in the mic was actually near my window up front and whatnot... 127.3dB... Not bad for a 10"!

wow 127dbs isn't bad at all for 10. For that price of the amp that's ok. I would suggest an mtx or rockford fosgate amp though, one of their cheaper models cause those are still very nice. I think a better amp would improve it also, but you can't beat what you paid for evrything.
I personally have a JLW0 in a sealed (of course) JL wedge box with a Rockford punch amp, it does 150x1. It came with the certificate for 162x1 though. The sub is 125, so it's plenty of power.
