yeah, do you have splash sheilds installed in the fender? The water has to splash through that and go up pretty damn far, even still it's not the whole filter that gets exposed.

I guess you went into a bigger puddle than you thought... was your car lowered? Because on my stock suspension set-up... the pipe that sucks in the air is over 1 foot from the ground.

stock susp. man! It was a puddle created by a manhole cover in a parking lot. I went in it and came out and aboiut 5 seconds later my engine was vibratin like nothin else then stalled. Not cool! Started it back up and it took 30 minutes to idle to get the water outta the system. Everytimei tried to put it over 2 or 3k rpms it would stall.(prolly cuz the filter was drenched) After i got outta there i went up to a gas station where i had cover and took the filter out and dried it out. It was completely soaked really bad!

yeh...but the great thing is that the car runs just as good now as it did before this incident....this happened about 3 or 4 months ago. No problems whatsoever. I was told to do a compression test but i havent had the money. I honestly think that not enuff water was sucked intot he engine for damage to occur. It just kinda "chocked" i guess. Thats my lamen's term explanation!
