Default HID/Xenon Bulb Prices [9005]

hello.
lookin for some bulbs to replace my lowbeam 12v 51w hb4 bulbs

particularly piaa xtremes or platinums or even sylvania silverstars

here's the paypal site that ive been lookin at

usin paypal so i dont bug my parents for cash for these bulbs, does 65/69/55 bucks sound like too much for these bulbs?

i know theyre supposedly high quality, but im not too keen on prices

thx in advance

found a site that sells the same Sylvania bulbs for 33
and the PIAA bulbs for 90 - 120

is the only diff btwn the Sylvania Cool Blue's and the Sylvania Silverstars the color output?

[edit: this site has a lower verification rating or whatever .. 28 vs 1016]

i've had both silverstars and cool blues and if your bulb socket for the low beam is 9006, convert 9005 high beam bulbs to fit in there. the light output is great. search "9005 conversion" in google to get some instructions.

after coverting 2 pairs of both stars and blues, i've noticed that the stars are a bit brighter, but the blues are more white.

i just looked into it, and i thought my lows were 9005, but turns out im retarded and theyre 9006 :P

if i just replace the stock 9006's w/ piaa's or sylvania's, would the light output still be pretty good?

[edit: sounds good
i think ill just get w/ silverstars]

thx

trust me on this one ... 9005 conversion. if you have a dremmel tool, it takes 5 min to do and your light output will be greater than any $70 piaa bulb. the 9006 lows are capped on the tips, the 9005 highs aren't ... just another way 9005's are better.

sweet
found 2 instructions

basically just:
1) cutting guiding extension things
2) overlapping the 9005 o-ring
3) clippin off a few mm on of the plastic

i think ill just go w/ that

i bought the Silverstars thinkin that they have a "white" light (AND i did the 9006 to 9005 conversion) but they had a yellow light

I have a question though...the Sylvania Cool Blues, I'm thinkin about gettin the 9005 Cool Blues and doin the 9006 conversion...is there any difference between the 9006 Cool Blues and the 9005s?

Get 9005 Silverstar and do the conversion. $30 for the Silverstar after the $10 mail in rebate.
